Metmory — Privacy Policy

Metmory helps you remember the people and companies you meet at networking events and conferences. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.

What Metmory stores

Everything you capture — contacts, notes, events, tags, follow-up reminders — is stored on your device, and backed up to your own iCloud when enabled. We do not run user accounts, and this data is not uploaded to us.

What leaves your device, and when

These features send data off your device, and only when you use them:

• Enrichment. When you look up a contact, the app sends that contact’s name, company, title, and email to our proxy, which queries People Data Labs to return public professional details such as a LinkedIn URL and company size.
• AI parsing and summaries (Premium). When you scan a card, record a voice memo, or generate a summary, the extracted text (never the image or audio) is sent to our proxy, which uses OpenAI to structure or summarize it.
• Voice dictation. Voice memos are transcribed by Apple’s speech recognition. Apple may process the audio on its servers to improve accuracy, and falls back to on-device recognition when you are offline. See Apple’s privacy policy. We never receive or store your audio.
• Subscriptions. If you subscribe to Premium, the purchase is handled by Apple’s App Store and processed through RevenueCat, which manages your subscription status. We receive only whether your subscription is active — never your payment details.

Reading cards and screenshots (text recognition) runs on your device — the camera image never leaves it. Our proxy is stateless and does not store the data you send; our processors may process it under their own terms.

Analytics

We use privacy-conscious product analytics (PostHog) to understand which features are used and how the app performs. We send anonymous, aggregate usage events only — no names, notes, contacts, or other personal content.

Device permissions

Metmory requests these only for the stated feature: Camera (scan cards), Photo Library (pick a screenshot to read), Microphone and Speech Recognition (voice memos), Contacts (import/export a contact you choose), and Notifications (event and follow-up reminders).

Keeping and deleting your data

Because your data lives on your device (and your own iCloud), you control it. Delete any contact, event, or note in the app and it is removed immediately. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your device; to remove the backup, turn off iCloud backup in Settings or delete the Metmory data from your iCloud. Our servers store nothing, so there is nothing for us to delete. For any privacy request, email metmory@tyming.app.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data, show ads, use advertising trackers, or collect location data.

Children

Metmory is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
